Makin' Doughnuts with Grandma........

Yesterday Kathy tended Hayden and Rylan (Tayte was home with the nurse). So Rylan and Grandma made dough nuts!!! Bill and his brothers use to make doughtnuts with their mom when they were little with this same dough nut maker. She said it took long and it only cooks 2 at a time so by the time they were done Bill and Jeff would fight over who got to put the frosting on them. Rylan thought it was so neat at first but the thing was taking a long time to cook the dough so he kinda lost interest after the first few. Later the whole heating element quit working- poor machine, it's been around a LONG TIME!!! But he had fun and thought it was cool! And the doughnuts were YUMMY!!!! It was cute to see Rylan and grandma doing something that Bill and mom did when he was little (kinda a tradition in a way). I wonder if it was a little of a da' sha vue for Kathy?

Busy Busy Busy Weekend!!!

First of all Tayte's surgery went very well! He had scar tissue on the inside of his throat above his trach that they cut out, removed his tonsils and adenoids and the Doctor said that his hearing test came back BETTER then last time! We spent the night friday but the Doc let us leave early Saturday so Tayte is just home now trying to heal. He has been really figity and restless. He has had a fever on and off which they said was normal and his whole face is swollen. We go back for a follow up and more tests in a few weeks, so we will just wait til then. For now I hope Tayte starts feeling better sometime soon! I can't imagine how bad it must hurt!

Before surgery

Second- On Saturday night a lady called us about the stolen motorcycle- no we didn't find them- but she said she had a little honda sitting in her garage that looks identical to the one that was stolen. She said it use to work and she doesn't know what it would take to fix it but if we wanted to come and get it we could HAVE it. We drove to her house sunday morning (1 hour and 45 minute drive) and met her and her kids and she gave us the motorcycle. We tried to give her something for it but she absolutely refused. The drive was worth Rylan's reaction when we got home! He was so happy! Thanks to people like her it makes me want to be a better person. I don't know if I believe much in karma but we will definately try to PAY IT FORWARD if we get the chance and we are able!!! That woman has no idea how much this means to us! and to Rylan!

Third- Last night we had my parents, Bills parents, Bill's brother Chet and bill's cousin Trevor over for a bbq! It was alot fun. Usually the only time we have our parents eating together is to celebrate birthdays or somethin like that. But we just ate and visited and watched the kids play. Nothing special just a good 'ol BBQ!!!

Lil' Tayter

Our lil' Tayter Bug...Tayter Mater...Bugga boo...Tiny man...

Tayte goes in for his surgery tomorrow. The Doctor's plan is that this will open his airway and we will be able to go ahead and take his Trach out in a few months. This little boy has been through some nasty ups and down's in his 19 months of life and he deserves a break! (Rylan and Hayden also deserve a break from having babysitters and hospitals and all that.) I told Rylan today that We had to take Tayte to the hospital in the morning to try to make him breathe better and this is what he said- word for word- "how come he has too? I want him home wif me and Hayden bacon and daddy and boomer and otis and just wif all of us on my couch."

I thought it was so cute of him! It's sad to me that Rylan know's that when Tayte leaves it is either to doctor's or hospitals. A three year old shouldn't have to worry about that kind of stuff!

Here is Tayte and my mom today. He was being silly!
video
I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that Tayte will do well and not wonder why we keep putting him through all this. I am not getting my hopes up- we have learned to live day to day with Tayte's medical problems- whether what we want happens tomorrow, a month from now or a year from now- we know it will happen- we just don't know WHEN. He is such a sweet baby- even at the worst of times he will smile or giggle at you and you can't help but do the same back at him! He doesn't know any different- which for him is a good thing!

The Sweetest thing......

This is one of my FAVORITE things to see! I think it is so sweet!
(Hayden is a wild child and we have to put him in his bed when he is still awake and he lays down and goes to sleep himself- that is why there isn't a picture of him with Bill.)
The picture with Tayte was taken about a half hour ago and the one with Rylan was last week. Hayden's was taken a couple weeks ago.

Cabin & Otis :)

Today we went with my parents to their cabin. It was our first time back since they bought the property and it was neat to see it in the making! It's awesome already! Can't wait til it's finished!!! We took Rylan and Tayte. We Left Hayden Bacon with Grandma and Grandpa. (We had to leave at least one home so that we could all fit to ride together.) We are going to have lots of fun memories there! I just know it!
On the way down I met a lady at a gas station and picked up the newest member of our family---Otis. Rylan was so happy about "dis little black doggy." On the way home we were naming a whole list of names and I guess Rylan liked Otis because when we got back to Grandma and Grandpa's and we kept asking what his name was that's what Ry kept saying- so Meet Otis, a 7 week old little black, pure bread cocker spaniel...........Thanks for taking us m&d, thanks m&d for watching Hayden, and Thanks Honey for letting me get another dog! :) You will love him...just wait and see! :)
(My computer is being Stupid and is taking F..o...r...e..v..e......r to load pictures so I will add more later!)

Night out!!!!

Bill's buddy from work, Dallas and his wife Tif, have asked us a number of times to go to their cabin with them. Friday night and Saturday day we had back to back nurses for Tayte and my mom and dad took the other two little monkeys so we decided to go WITH NO KIDS and spend a night. I am so glad we did! It was such a blast! It was just the 5 of us (Tif's little bro Talon went also). They are fun to be around and it was nice getting to know them a little better and hanging out!
Friday night we were on a 4 wheeler ride and came across a momma moose and little baby! We got pretty close and it was a little scary but it was SO neat to see! D and Tif all but rolled their 4 wheeler- hope they are alright! :/ and Talon almost killed himself on a rock- oh and "broke a nail" :) even though it was only a day and a half it was definately worth going but We did miss our hoodalums back at home!!! Thanks mom for watching the boys and Thanks for inviting us D and Tif!
